On Wednesday morning, the earth beneath our feet here in southern Crete gave a gentle reminder of its nature. A moderate earthquake was felt throughout the island. Although the tremor was strong in some areas, there was no damage to buildings, infrastructure, or — most importantly — to our peace of mind.
In Crete, it's not the first time the ground has danced a little. Locals know how to read the signs of nature. They smile, stay calm, and carry on with their day.
